I have thoroughly enjoyed my week in Pune at the Poona Cricket Club. It was an unbelievable opportunity that was given to me by the MCC and the Global Cricket School and I am extremely grateful.
Throughout my time in India I learnt so much it’s untrue, it has helped both my development as a cricketer and as a person. During my week at the GCS I have improved all aspects of my game. I have been taught a number of drills for all areas of my game which can only improve my cricketing skills, I have also developed my knowledge on tactics, which undoubtedly will help me during the coming season.
The coaching at the GCS was of a highest calibre, the head coach Umesh, whom I worked with the most was brilliant. His knowledge and ability to coach were top class and he was always there to help whenever I had a question that needed answering. He and Rishi, who was the assistant coach, didn’t just provide technical points in order to help me, they focused more on my mental ability and how I processed my thoughts, and this was really useful because it was a different way of coaching that I’ve never experienced before. This will without a doubt improve my ability to control my concentration: when to switch on and when to switch off.
Tom Craddock working with the coaches at the Global Cricket Scool The GCS was one of the best cricketing experiences I’ve had in my life so far and I would highly recommend it to anyone that seriously wants to make it as a professional cricketer. The training is tough, long and intense but it’s well worth it as you learn so much within a short space of time.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the MCC and all the coaches at the GCS for giving me the opportunity to gain such an invaluable experience.
