Johan Malcolm, the Loughborough student who has been sent to Leicestershire as part of the internship scheme, made his debut for their First XI in the Championship game against Warwickshire last week. He scored 1 in his only innings but he bowled tidily, with his 14 overs only costing 21 runs. He is also in the side to play Gloucestershire, which starts today.
Malcolm is the third member of this year's Loughborough team to be playing regular First XI county cricket, as Paul Borrington and Matthew Spriegel are appearing regularly for Derbyshire and Surrey respectively.
