Leeds/Bradford all-rounder Luis Reece has strung together a series of impressive performances throughout June to secure the final player of the month award for 2011.
Reece has been a steady influence in the Leeds/Bradford middle order all season, and has finished strongly with knocks of 58 and 64 against Cardiff at the start of June, followed by an aggregate of 143 runs in the Twenty20 tournament at Loughborough – including a highest score of 87 from 55 balls against Durham.
Such performances with the bat, alongside some tidy bowling spells, have contributed to Reece’s selection for the MCC Universities Combined squad, to play for the rest of the summer in the north division of the ECB Second XI Championship. In the side’s opening fixture against Lancashire II at the end of June, Reece was able to continue his good form hitting 84 in the first innings, to help secure a well earned draw.
