The team building day in March is definitely an occasion to look forward to – the freezing temperatures, the mad games and the little bit of goal setting for the season. Why wouldn’t you want to get out of bed for 10?
As per usual, the Bradford contingent is running late, that unfortunate breakdown they seem to have every time, has struck again. Anyway, after a few minutes of deciding what the best plan of action is, the standard goal setting begins. A few early suggestions are thrown out like an unbeaten season or let’s win a first class game, but the realism soon sets in that we need to play each game as it comes and then maybe look at the future.
After the intense goal setting, the diet and nutrition talk commences, by this time the Bradford mobile had recovered to make it just in time for the afternoon activities and a few team building games. This is definitely the highlight of the day as the banter begins between the different universities, with the Met always coming out on top; well I would say that, as I go there. At the end of the day the mood is buoyant, the team has gelled and the outlook for the season is good.
